Karnataka govt mulls legal aid to sacked IT employees

The Forum for IT Employees claimed there have been 56,000 layoffs across the country.

The Karnataka government may provide legal help to the information technology (IT) sector employees in the state.
 
The sacked IT employees have called for action to stop "illegal" layoffs in the industry.
 
"Some members of the employees associations met me today (Monday). I assured them of all help. I advised them to bring all representatives of IT employees associations to the next meeting to discuss their problems," Information and Technology Minister Priyank Kharge was quoted as saying. 
 
The Forum for IT Employees claimed there have been 56,000 layoffs across the country.
 
It asked the minister to intervene to stop, what they called, "illegal layoffs by IT companies".
