Aadhaar must to avail government co-contribution under APY

Pension regulator PFRDA has identified nearly 12.35 lakh subscribers eligible for government co-contribution for an amount up to Rs 1,000.

In order to bring in transparency and efficiency, subscribers of the Atal Pension Yojna (APY) will have to link their Aadhaar to their accounts to avail financial help up to Rs 1,000, said the Finance Ministry.
 
Those who are eligible to receive monetary benefits under this scheme will either have to provide proof of possession of Aadhaar number or undergo enrolment under Aadhaar authentication, it informed. 
 
APY is the government’s flagship social security scheme. It has over 50 lakh subscribers with an asset base of more than Rs 2,200 crore.
