DIPP floats paper to seek views on new industrial policy

The aim of the new industrial policy is to create jobs for the next two decades, promote foreign technology transfer and attract $100 billion FDI annually.

The Ministry of Commerce & Industry ministry is working on to frame a new industrial policy, and has floated papers to get the views of stakeholders in this regard.
 
The aim of the new industrial policy is to create jobs for the next two decades, promote foreign technology transfer and attract $100 billion FDI annually.
 
The policy is expected to be released in October.
 
The ministry has sought comments on the paper till September 25.
 
The Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), a wing of the ministry, said the result of this exercise is to frame an actionable industrial policy, which provides direction and charts a course of action for a globally competitive Indian industry to leverage skill, scale and technology.
 
India needs to strengthen global strategic linkages by creating global brands and more FDI, the paper said.
