Information security spending in India to increase 12% in 2017: Report

As per the report, security monitoring and detection is a major investment area for India companies.

The businesses in India are increasingly becoming war of the security breaches. They are investing in a big way to ensure that the detection and response system are kept in place. 
 
According to a data from Gartner Inc., spending on information security products and services in India in 2017 will register an increase of 12 per cent over 2016.  
 
The spending will reach $1.5 billion in 2017, which is expected to grow to $1.7 billion in 2018, the research firm said.
 
As per it, security monitoring and detection is a major investment area for India companies.
 
“Rising awareness amongst CEOs and boards of directors about the business impact of security incidents, and an evolving regulatory landscape have led to continued end user spending for security products and services,” Siddharth Deshpande, principal research analyst at Gartner was quoted as saying.
 
Security services, especially IT outsourcing, consulting and implementation services, will be the fastest growing segment, Gartner said.
