An official note from the Telangana government said Jaitley agreed for transfer of defence lands to the state, which will be used for the construction of new secretariat and also road expansion.
The GST Council would look into the issue of lowering tax structure on government projects, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley told K C Rao, the Telangana chief minister.
Rao received assurance when he called on the finance minister in the national capital on Saturday.
An official release from the Telangana Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said that Jaitley agreed for transfer of defence lands to the state, which will be used for the construction of new secretariat and also road expansion.
“Jaitley informed the CM that the Centre is willing to handover Bison Polo Ground for the construction of a new Secretariat and required lands for the expansion of Karimnagar and Medchal highways,” the statement said.
“The Finance Minister also assured the CM that the GST Council would take up the issue of lowering tax slab on government projects in the next meeting,” it said.
Telangan CM is hopeful that the GST Council will address his concerns on the tax slab issue on the public projects.
