Jaitley defends note ban & GST, dismisses slowdown talk

The minister said the government was not scared of taking tough decisions.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has defended the government's economic management, demonetisation and tax reforms.
 
He dismissed the "so called" slowdown and told that there were robust revenue collections during this fiscal.

"India has shown bold leadership... our leadership doesn't shiver in taking decisions," Jaitley said.
 
He took on the criticism by Former Finance Ministers Yashwant Sinha and P Chidambaram, saying, "acting in tandem will not change the facts."
 
The government has been on attack after GDP growth fell to a three-year low of 5.7 per cent in the June quarter.
