No other market to grow faster than India in next 20 years, says Tata group chief

He called upon its group companies to use the opportunity to make investments in the market and, thus, contribute to India's growth story.

Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran has said India will continue to grow faster as compared to other economies in the next 10-20 years.

He called upon its group companies to use the opportunity to make investments in the market and, thus, contribute to India's growth story.

However, he believed "some level of consolidation is essential" for the salt-to-software conglomerate.

The group, which has its global operations in over 100 countries, registered 64.1 per cent of its total revenues in the last financial year.

"No other market, I believe, is going to grow faster than India in the next 10-20 years. Considering our demographic profile, we will have a consumer population that is going to have higher spending power," he said in an interview to the group's in-house magazine Tata Review.

Tata group chief, however, said the management has not worked out all the details about the consolidation and added, "We have our thoughts on this and we will consider them carefully."
