Sanjeev Jha, CFO - INDIA, KELLY SERVICES India Pvt Ltd shares his thought on the alternate dream profession and several other things that will surprise the CFO community.
If I were not a CFO…
I would have been a lawyer, or a professor or a social activist. I believe in social equality and social justice. These professions would have fulfilled my aspiration in this regard.
India of My Dreams
India of my dreams would be a place where all are educated, senior citizens have the best of facilities and social protection, children have the best education and sports opportunities and all eligible would have employment. India would be clean and green. It would have strong and empowered women. India would protect its ancient cultural and heritage and be proud to carry it forward with modernomics.

The Leader I Would Like to Be & Why
Not any one in particular, but I am influenced by Swami Vivekanand, Mahatma Gandhi and also Steve Jobs. I would like to be a leader who leads by example. Leadership for me is a great responsibility. I would like to be leader who can create more leaders and great human beings. Also, emotional and spiritual leadership is necessary.
One costly mistake that I turned into an opportunity
Adapting to people and adapting fast is one mistake I often make. This propensity has taught me that you can’t change the world. Hence, you should change yourself, when needed.
PASSION BEYOND NUMBERS
I like table tennis, golf, tennis and swimming and wanted to learn saxophone...it’s on my bucket list
I write poems and dance a bit

I as a mentor & mentee
My mentors taught me to be myself and not change the core of my being, and to align to the goal and role and not the person. They taught me to work smart and aim high. I try to teach the similar lessons as a mentor. I try to instill self-belief in my team and the ability to adapt fast to change. We are living in a super dynamic era and I advise my mentees to live by the adage ‘love what you do and do what you love’.
Where I see India in near and long term
It’s a golden decade for Indians. The short term is a period where it's transforming and in the long term, it's going to be a superpower without a doubt.
