NSE Academy and ACCA sign MoU; to work to strengthen accountancy profession in India

Helen Brand OBE, Chief Executive of ACCA said there’s a global demand for accounting professionals and so, the global accounting body is pleased to play a part in sustaining the talent pipeline with NSE Academy.

NSE Academy Limited (NAL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the NSE and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the global body for professional accountants, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further develop and strengthen the accountancy profession in India.
 
The MoU between NAL and ACCA is considered significant on the backdrop of rapid globalisation, which India is witnessing and which is expected to continue, leading to a strong demand for accountants in the country.
 
NAL and ACCA will explore opportunities to secure essential and relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for members and stakeholders, and to prepare them with skills needed to succeed in dynamic and demanding business environment.
 
“As a part of continually seeking to facilitate the financial well-being of the citizens of our country, NSE has always focused on taking steps to create a large and knowledgeable investor base, which is critical for strong and vibrant capital markets. Our collaboration with ACCA is yet another step in the direction of building a large pool of financially aware citizens of which some of whom can become accountancy professionals,” said Vikram Limaye, MD & CEO, NSE.

As per Abhilash Misra, CEO, NSE Academy Ltd, “We are exploring opportunities to jointly impart financial skills in schools, colleges, and provide Continuing Professional Development opportunities to members and develop joint thought leadership activities.”
 
Mohammed Sajid Khan, Head of International Development, ACCA said this joint collaboration would help students on financial literacy, personal financial skills and also provide a pathway to the ACCA qualification or further study at Universities.
